Trezor Safe Series

The premium flagship hardware wallet from SatoshiLabs, a Czech Republic-based company, was officially launched on February 26, 2018, to enhance security and ease of use, building upon the legendary Trezor One.

Physical improvements include a color touchscreen (1.54 inches), a USB-C port, and an ARM Cortex-M4 chip (180 MHz). It supports Shamir Backup and has also been developed to support FIDO2 and U2F.

The new generation of hardware wallets from SatoshiLabs marks a significant leap forward for the brand. SatoshiLabs has rebranded and launched a new product line under the "Trezor Safe" family, with Trezor Safe 3 leading the market to replace the classic Trezor Model One.
In the past, Trezor adhered to a philosophy of 100% Open-Source, thus avoiding the use of proprietary secure elements. However, due to increasing physical threats, SatoshiLabs decided to incorporate a Secure Element (OPTIGA™ Trust M - EAL6+) into the Safe 3 model. This addition aims to prevent PIN data hacking through physical extraction while still maintaining the open-source nature of the firmware.

The new generation flagship hardware wallet from SatoshiLabs was officially launched on June 14, 2024, at BTC Prague 2024. It is designed to be the direct successor to the Trezor Model T, aiming to enhance the experience for traders and general users seeking a premium product. This is achieved by combining the ease of use of a color touchscreen with a tamper-proof Secure Element (EAL6+) security chip. A key UX/UI improvement is the upgraded color touchscreen covered with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass, along with the addition of Haptic Feedback.

The latest flagship hardware wallet from SatoshiLabs is the first to use the TROPIC01 chip, developed by Tropic Square (a SatoshiLabs subsidiary). This chip is the world's first Open/Auditable Secure Element, allowing external experts 100% access to its internal architecture for auditing. It works in conjunction with a second Secure Element chip in a Dual-SE system, supports Encrypted Bluetooth, Qi2 Wireless Charging, and Quantum-Ready architecture.

The materials have been upgraded from plastic to an Anodized Aluminum Unibody. It features a large 2.5-inch color touchscreen with Gorilla Glass, an IP54 dust and splash resistance rating, and uses a LiFePO4 battery that supports up to 4 times more charge cycles than typical lithium batteries.
