Management Section in the One Key Application

Today, I will introduce you to various settings in the OneKey application. If you're ready, grab your OneKey, phone, or tablet, download the OneKey application, and follow along!

• To start the settings in the application, click on the 9-dot icon in the top right corner, and the system will take you to the next page.

• This window is divided into 4 main sections:
• Device: Our Onekey Hardware wallet connected to the Onekey application.
• General: General settings.

Getting Started with Settings

The Device tab is for managing our Hardware Wallet device.

Section 1

• About device: Information
• Genuine check: Checks if our Hardware wallet is genuine.
• Check for updates: Checks if the software is the current version.
• Hardware troubleshooting: Common Hardware wallet issues.

Section 2 General

• Language: Sets the language on our Hardware wallet.
• Add wallpaper: Sets the background image on our Hardware wallet. You can use existing images or upload your own.
• Brightness: Adjusts brightness.
• Auto lock: Sets the auto-lock time for the application.
• Auto shutdown: Sets the auto-shutdown time.
• Vibration & Haptic: Vibration function when...

Section 3 Security

• Change PIN: Changes the PIN used to access the Hardware wallet.

Section 4 Advanced

• Passphrase: An extra word in addition to our Seed Phrase (12, 24 words), used to enhance the security of our Seed Phrase.

Section 5 Device connection

• Forget this device: Makes the application disconnect from the Hardware wallet we are using.

Section 6 ***Danger Zone***

• Switch to Bitcoin-only: Changes the current multi-coin mode to Bitcoin-only mode (before changing mode, remember to back up your Seed Phrase).
• Wipe device: Resets the entire device and restores factory settings (wipes the device clean).

General Settings

• Setting: General settings

When we click into the Settings application, various topics will be displayed as follows. These topics are the same as the previous shortcuts, and will discuss the details of each topic again.

• Scan QR code: This is for scanning the recipient's wallet address QR code or connecting via WalletConnect for transactions with various Smart contracts.
• Prime: A special service for additional subscribers.

Now that we understand the overall settings in the application, let's explore how to use each feature that One Key offers. This includes minor adjustments and increasing device security. If you're ready, you can check the table of contents for topics of interest for each feature.

1. Creating a Passphrase — Hidden Wallet

What is a Passphrase?

A Passphrase, also known as the '25th word', is an additional secret code used with the Seed Phrase to create a completely new, separate wallet. Each wallet created with a Passphrase will have a new Address and Private Key, meaning even if someone knows your Seed Phrase, they still cannot access the assets in the Passphrase wallet.

Steps to create a Passphrase

• Turn on your OneKey device and unlock it with your PIN.
• Press the right button to enter the main menu, go to Settings -> Security, and enter the sub-menu.
• Select Passphrase and change its status from to Enable.

Connect to the OneKey App, then select "Add Wallet" to create a new Hidden Wallet.

Click on “Connect Hardware Wallet”.

Go to our Account, select the desired device, then click Edit.

Select “Add Hidden Wallet”.

Then, type the Passphrase on the device screen (supports letters, numbers, symbols, up to 50 characters).

Confirm. The system will load a new Address that matches that Passphrase.

Click "Done"

2. Firmware Update

Regular firmware updates are essential for receiving security patches and new features. OneKey will notify you via the app when new updates are available.

• Go to the OneKey firmware update website.
• Connect your OneKey hardware wallet to your computer. The website will display your wallet's firmware information once the device is successfully detected.
• Select the latest firmware version available for your OneKey hardware wallet.
• Click "Install Firmware."
• A prompt will appear requesting confirmation on your hardware wallet device. Proceed by confirming on the device.
• Wait for the process to complete.

Update in OneKey App

Go to the main dashboard of the OneKey app and click on 「Device」. In the device management page, click on the wallet you want to update to open its information page.

• Select - "Check for Updates"

• Click the "Updates" button. The device will restart to begin the firmware update.
• Follow the on-screen instructions and confirm the update on your device.

3. Changing the PIN

• On the device, go to Settings → Security → Change PIN.

• Enter your old PIN to confirm. Set a new PIN (4–9 digits, numbers 1–9 only, no 0).

• Then enter the new PIN and confirm the new PIN again.

4. Auto-Lock

• Go to Settings → General → Auto-Lock.
• Select the desired duration (1 minute, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or no lock).

It is recommended to set Auto-Lock to no more than 1–3 minutes for security, especially when using in public places.

5. Adjusting Screen Brightness

• Go to Settings → General → Brightness.
• Use the left/right buttons on the device to adjust the brightness level. Reducing brightness helps conserve battery when using via Bluetooth.

6. Device Verification

OneKey has a system to verify if the device is genuine by sending a certificate to the OneKey server.

• Connect the device to the OneKey app.
• Go to "Device" → "Verify Device."

• The device will send a certificate to the server — please wait a moment.
• If successful, a "Verification successful" message will be displayed.

7. Resetting the Device (for Pro Series)

Method 1: If you remember your PIN

• Enter your PIN to unlock your OneKey hardware wallet.
• Go to the Settings menu > Wallet.
• Scroll down to the bottom and select Reset Device.

Method 2: If you forgot your PIN

• Enter the incorrect PIN 10 consecutive times.
• After the incorrect attempts are exhausted, the OneKey device will automatically reset itself.

Reconnecting to the OneKey App (Rebinding)

Once the device reset is successful, the connection information stored in the chip will also be deleted. You need to unbind the previous connection between the OneKey app and the device, then rebind to use it normally.

Step 1: Unbind the old connection

• Open the OneKey app and enter your password to unlock.
• Click on the current wallet name.
• Click the "Edit" button.
• Click the delete icon (trash can) which will be to the right of the "Done" button.
• Read the entire warning message, then click "Remove."

Step 2: Reconnect to the OneKey app

• Open the OneKey app and enter your password to unlock.
• Click on the current wallet name.
• Click "Add wallet" and select "Connect Hardware Wallet."
• Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the pairing.

8. Checking Recovery Phrase

Go to Setting -> Security -> Check Recovery Phrase

Read the details then press the right button to continue.

Enter your PIN then press confirm.

Select the number of words in your Seed Phrase.

Enter your Seed Phrase in the order indicated by the device to perform the verification.

If the Seed Phrase matches, the system will notify you on the screen, and you are done.

9. Set Wallpaper

OneKey hardware wallets allow users to set custom wallpapers. You can connect your OneKey to the OneKey app, upload your favorite image through the app, and set it as the OneKey's home screen wallpaper.

• Click on your account name.

• Select the connected hardware wallet and click 'Edit'.

• Click 'Home Screen'

• Click the '+' button to select a wallpaper from your computer.

• Adjust the display position as needed, then click 'Confirm'.

• Click 'Confirm' and check the changes on your hardware wallet to complete the setup.

10. Changing the language

Go to Setting => General => Language. Change to your desired language and click confirm.
