Customization (Localization)

Description

The customization menu allows users to adjust Trezor Suite settings for a more personalized user experience.

Localization

Bitcast

Settings (⚙️) > Application

Available Options

  • Language:
    • Official Translations: English, Spanish, German, French
    • Community Translations: Czech, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Russian
  • Fiat Currency: Select your local or preferred currency.
  • Bitcoin Unit: Choose between BTC or sats.

How to Set

Select the desired option from the dropdown menu.

 


 

Labeling

Description

Labeling helps you better manage your wallets and accounts, track your portfolio, categorize transactions by sender, or make notes about transactions.

Activation

  1. Go to Settings (⚙️) > Application
  2. Click the switch to enable/disable labeling.

Notes

  • When labeling is off: Accounts will use the default Trezor Suite names.
  • When labeling is on: You can assign custom names.

 

Saving Labels

You can choose how to store your labels:

  • Dropbox account
  • Google Drive account
  • Local storage: Note - If you choose this method, you will not be able to access your labels on other devices.

 

Security

All data you add is automatically encrypted with a key derived from your Trezor device.

 


 

Part 2: Privacy and Security


Tor (Tor Network)

Description

The Tor switch is a privacy feature that helps protect your identity by making it difficult to trace your connection to any specific country, location, or IP address.

Availability

Only available in the Trezor Suite desktop app.

Activation

  1. Click the Tor icon on the right side of the top toolbar.
  2. Wait a moment for the connection to be established.
  3. Once connected, a green checkmark will appear on the icon.

 

Notes

  • Connecting via Tor may introduce increased latency due to longer connection paths and multiple nodes.
  • You can adjust Tor settings to connect to specific Tor instances.
  • You can choose to open trezor.io links as .onion links for additional privacy.

 


 

Part 3: Application Settings

 

Application

Location

Settings (⚙️) > Application > Application category

Bitcast

Available Options

  • Color Scheme: Choose between light and dark mode.
  • Usage Data: Choose whether to send anonymous user data to help improve Trezor products.
  • Application Logs: Download logs for troubleshooting.
  • App Storage: Reset the app to restore default settings.
  • Suite Version: Check the current version and available updates.

 


 

Experimental Features

Location

Settings (⚙️) > Application > Experimental Features category

Bitcast

Early Access Program

  • Description: Get access to new features one week before official release.
  • Availability: Desktop app only.

 

How to Join

  1. Click the gear icon (⚙️) in Trezor Suite.
  2. On the Application settings page, scroll down to the Experimental Features section.
  3. Click 'Join'.
  4. Check the 'I understand' box and click 'Join program'.
  5. Wait for confirmation that it has been activated.

 

Symbol

When activated, a star icon will appear in the top right corner of Trezor Suite.

 


 

Express BTC values in sats

Description

You can choose to display Bitcoin balances and transaction values in BTC or Satoshis (sats). (Example: 0.1 BTC = 10,000,000 sats)

How to Change

Method 1 - From the Dashboard:

  • Click 'Balance' in the asset overview table.

Method 2 - From Settings:

  1. Go to Settings (⚙️) > Application.
  2. In the Language and Currency Customization section, use the dropdown menu for 'Bitcoin Unit'.
  3. Choose between Bitcoin and Satoshis.

 


 

Wallet Backup

Location

Settings (⚙️) > Device > Top of the page

Bitcast

Available Options

  • Backup:
    • If already backed up: The 'Backup complete' button will be grayed out.
    • If not yet backed up: Click 'Create backup' and set it up as soon as possible.
  • Check backup: Verify the validity of your recovery seed by performing a simulated recovery.

 

Importance

Wallet backup (recovery seed) is critically important and should be set up as soon as possible.

 


 

Part 4: Device Management

Firmware

Location

Settings (⚙️) > Device > Firmware section

Bitcast

Details

  • Version:
    • If using the latest firmware: The button will display "Up to date".
    • If new updates are available: Click 'Update available' and follow the on-screen instructions.
  • Type:
    • Universal: Supports all cryptocurrencies available on Trezor.
    • Bitcoin-only: Displays only Bitcoin accounts and balances.

Changing Firmware Type

  • From Universal to Bitcoin-only: Click 'Switch to Bitcoin-only'.
  • From Bitcoin-only to Universal: Click 'Switch to Universal'.
  • You can switch back and forth between multi-coin and Bitcoin-only.

 


 

Security

Location

Settings (⚙️) > Device > Security section

Bitcast

Available Options

  • PIN: Enable/disable PIN protection.
  • Change PIN: Change your current PIN.
  • Passphrase: Enabled by default, can be disabled with a switch.
  • Safety Checks: Control authorization for potentially unsafe actions (not recommended to disable).
  • Device Check: Verify if it's a genuine device.
