Welcome to the world of "Self-Custody"! Choosing Trezor Safe 3 (or the Safe model) is a worthwhile investment for the ultimate long-term security of your coins.

This guide will break down the steps and walk you through the process, one step at a time.

Trezor Safe 3 Quick Start Guide

Before plugging in the USB cable, please clear your desk and prepare the following items:

Trezor Safe 3: If you just bought it, check the exterior of the box. There should be no signs of tampering, and most importantly, the "Security Seal" on the box lid must be intact and unbroken.

Caution: If you find any irregularities or if the seal has been opened, do not use it. Contact your distributor or Bitcast immediately.

USB-C cable: Included in the box.
Paper or word-recording card: A thick card for writing down words, included in the box.
Pen: Have one ready to write down your Recovery Seed.
Computer or Smartphone (Important!)

Works with Windows, macOS, Linux
Or Android smartphones.
Note: iOS (iPhone/iPad) does not currently support direct wired connections.

Free time: Approximately 15 minutes to allow for full concentration.

Starting the Setup (Step-by-Step)

Step 1 (Download and Install Trezor Suite)

Security starts here. You must use only the genuine web or program from the Official source.

Access the official website.
Open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) on your computer or laptop.
Type the URL: trezor.io/start into the address bar at the top and press Enter.
Caution: DO NOT search for "Trezor Suite" in Google Search and click on the top advertisement (Ad) link, as it may be a fake website (Phishing) created by hackers.

Choose your preferred method of use.
Option 1 "Download for desktop" (highly recommended) is to download and install the program on your computer. This method is the most stable and secure, as it reduces the risk of accessing a wrong website in the future.
Option 2 "Continue in browser" is to use it via a web page without installation (suitable for use on a non-personal computer or in an emergency).

Select your operating system.
If you choose to download, click to select the operating system of your computer, which supports Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Click the Download button and wait for the file to finish loading.

Install the program.
Open the downloaded file (e.g., Trezor-Suite-Setup...exe on Windows or .dmg on Mac).
Follow the system's installation steps until complete.
Once installed, the Trezor Suite icon will appear on your screen or in your program list.

Step 2 (Connect and Install Firmware)

Every new Trezor device does "not" come with pre-installed firmware to ensure that the software you are using is the latest and most secure version. Therefore, you must install the firmware yourself.

Open the Trezor Suite program and plug in the USB cable to connect Trezor Safe 3 to your computer.
Once the program detects the device, click the "Setup my Trezor" button.
The system will display a Security Check alert; click "Install Firmware."
Wait for the installation to complete and click "Continue."

Step 3 (Create New Wallet)

Once the firmware is installed, the system will ask you to choose between recovering an existing wallet or creating a new one. Do the following:

For new users, click the "Create new wallet" button (+) to start creating a new wallet.
Choosing the Backup Type (Very Important): The system will give you options to choose from.

Recommendation: Choosing a Legacy Wallet Backup (which is usually 12 or 24 words) is the best option for most users.
Why 12 or 24 words? Because it is a universal standard (BIP-39) that is highly popular and sufficiently secure. Most importantly, it offers "flexibility." If your Trezor device is damaged or lost in the future, you can use these 12 or 24 words to recover (Restore) your wallet on other hardware wallets that support the same standard immediately, without being tied solely to Trezor.

Press the confirmation button on the Trezor device to proceed to the seed phrase transcription step.

(This example will use a 12-word wallet backup.)

Step 4 (Note Down Seed Phrase (Most Important!))

This step is the most crucial part of this article. The system will randomly generate English words (either 12 or 24 words, depending on your settings).

Take out your paper or recovery card.
Read the words on the Trezor screen and write them down on paper, one by one, in numerical order 1, 2, 3... ensuring all letters are correct.
Once you have written all the words, the system will ask you to check them again for accuracy (e.g., "What is word number 9?"). Select the correct answer on the Trezor screen.

⛔ Ironclad Security Rules (Must Follow!)

* DO NOT take photos of your Seed Phrase or save it on your phone or computer.

* DO NOT save it as a digital file or upload it to the Cloud.

* Keep this paper in the safest and most confidential place, because "anyone with this paper can access all your funds."

Step 5 (Set PIN)

The PIN Code is used to protect against physical access to your device (like a phone password). For Trezor Safe 3, all settings are done on the device screen.

Start setup: On your computer screen (Trezor Suite), click the "Set PIN" button and confirm on your Trezor device.
How to enter the code on Trezor Safe 3

The Trezor screen will display a number pad.
Use the "left" or "right" buttons on the device to move the cursor to the desired number.
Press the "middle" button (or press both buttons simultaneously) to select that number.
Repeat until you have entered the desired number of digits (from 4 to 50 digits).

Confirm code

Once all numbers are selected, move the cursor to the "check (✓)" mark and select it to confirm.

Re-enter PIN

The system will ask you to re-enter the same code to prevent mistakes. Follow the same steps.
Once completed, the screen will display a message indicating successful setup.

Tips for setting up your code

Set a difficult-to-guess code (avoid using easy-to-guess codes like 1234, 1111).
Entering the code on the Safe 3 device itself is considered the most secure because the password is not transmitted via USB to the computer. This way, hackers cannot obtain your password.

Step 6 (Activate Coin and Finish)

Once the PIN is set, the screen will show that it's complete.

You can choose to Activate assets to immediately display the desired coin wallets, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin.
Click "Complete setup" and then "Go to Trezor Suite" to access the main Dashboard.

Congratulations! Your Trezor Safe 3 is now ready to act as a "fortress" protecting your digital assets. As long as you keep your Seed Phrase (12 or 24 words written down on paper) safe, your coins will be secure forever.
